  • How many children are in a class?
Groups are determined by the Ministry of Education. Groups are kept small to promote a friendly learning experience. Staffing in the room is based on the number of children in each program. Ratios are always followed to protect your child. Please the Programs page for ratios specific to each age group.
  • Do I have to pick up my child if he/she is sick?
Yes. We like to promote a safe and healthy environment for all children. We follow Toronto Public Health Guidelines and request that you keep your child home until they are feeling better. This ensures that they, as well as the other children at our centre, are healthy and safe.
  • What are the deadlines for drop-off and pick-up?
Children should arrive at the centre no later than 10:30a.m. so they are able to enjoy the planned activities for the day. The centre closes at 6:00p.m. and late fees will be charged for late pick-up. Please respect that our teachers also have their own lives to get home to as well.
  • What happens if I am late picking up my child?
We close at 6:00p.m. A late fee of $1.00 for each minute is charged between 6:00p.m. – 6:10p.m. Afterwards, a charge of $2.00 per minute until pick-up will apply. All late fees are to be paid directly to the teacher staying late with your child upon pick up. There will always be 2 teachers staying back until childcare is locked.
  • Do I have to pay fees while my child is home ill or on vacation?
Yes. You are responsible for fees the entire time your child is enrolled, and not just when they attend.
  • How are fees processed?
Your childcare fees are to be paid monthly by Debit Interac. You will receive a monthly fee memo which outlines your childcare fees for the month. All payments must be paid by the 7th of each month to avoid disruption in your child care fees. If you are unable to pay by the 7th on each month you may request an extension of payment from the childcare supervisor. A $2.00/day late fee will apply until balance is paid in full. Monthly payment cannot be moved into the following month.
  • Is your centre enrolled in the Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care (CWELCC) program?
Yes. Kimbercroft has enrolled in the CWELCC program. We believe that child care provides a strong foundation for Early Childhood Development and well-being of children while parents’ work. We are committed to providing child care services that meet the need of your children and families. Participating in the CWELCC System will help us continue to provide high quality child care that is accessible, affordable, inclusive and sustainable. Children under 6 years of age are eligible for this program. Children who turn 6 years old between January and June are eligible until June 30th if they are enrolled in a Preschool or Kindergarten Program.
  • What happens if my child cries?
Each child transitions at their own pace and in their own way. We will comfort your child as you leave in the morning and redirect their attention to fun and interesting activities. We will give your child the re-assurance that you will return as soon as you can and even give them a “big hug”.
  • How do I put my child on your centre’s waiting list?
You can contact the centre supervisor and all information needed will be collected and will be placed on the centre’s waiting list.
  • What if I have comments or concerns about the childcare?
All feedback is welcome and seriously considered. You can contact the centre supervisor concerning your child’s care at anytime.
  • What if my child has an EPI-PEN or Puffer?
