OUR PROGRAMS

At Kimbercroft we believe that an Emergent approach and planned instruction will help to build the building blocks of your child’s education and development. Children are able to choose which activities they would like to explore and the educators will help to enhance, educate and expand on your child’s imagination. Educator’s document and monitor the children’s interests which helps create the curriculum being taught. Educators use the following resources when implementing the program:

Storytime

Kimbercroft Childcare & Learning Centre meets all Operating Criteria set out by Toronto Children’s Services and The Ministry of Education is committed to the delivery of quality care of children aged 2½ years to 9 years of age. Our services and resources enrich children’s early learning experiences in a warm and caring setting. All children shall be included regardless of race, color, sex, religion, or diverse needs.

Art Class

Safety is our utmost priority. We maintain strict security protocols, including secure entrances, monitoring systems, and trained staff to ensure a protected environment for your child. We are also fully licensed and adhere to all health and safety regulations. 

Kimbercroft’s Goals are to:

Promote the health, safety, nutrition and well-being of the children

Support positive and responsive interactions among the children, parents, child care providers and educators

Encourage the children to interact and communicate in a positive way and support their ability to self-regulate

Foster the children’s exploration, play, inquires to provide child-initiated and adult supported experiences

Plan for and create positive learning environments, enhance experiences in which each child’s learning and development will be supported

​Incorporate indoor and outdoor play, as well as active play, rest and quiet time, throughout the day, and give consideration to the individual needs of the children receiving child care. 

Foster the engagement of an ongoing communication with Parents about the program and their children 

Involve local community partners and allow those partners to support the children, their families and educators

Support educators or others who interact with the children in relation to continuous professional learning.

Document and review the impact of strategies set out in our program statement on the children and their families.

PRESCHOOL ROOM

Preschool Program

(30 months – 4 years)

Ratio 1 Educator: 8 Children

At Kimbercroft we have 2 Preschool Programs. Preschool 1 (16 children) & Preschool 2 (16 children). 

Our Preschoolers are very curious of the world around them and are always excited to engage in different activities and conversations. Their creativity allows our Educators to take the programming into a whole new level to expand their learning.

KINDERGARTEN ROOM

Kindergarten Program

(4 years – 6 years)

Ratio 1 Educator: 8 Children

At Kimbercroft we have 1 Kindergarten Program with 16 children.

We service two schools in the Scarborough Area White Haven Public School and St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic School. The children are walked to and from school and daycare.

School Age Program

(6 years – 9 years)

Ratio 1 Educator: 15 Children

At Kimbercroft we have 1 School Age Program with 30 children.

We service two schools in the Scarborough Area White Haven Public School and St. Elizabeth Seaton Catholic School. The children are walked to and from school and daycare.
