Our Kindergarten program offers before and after school care as well as full day programs on non-instructional days from school such as P.A. Days, March Breaks, Summer Breaks, and Winter Breaks. We understand the unique needs and interests of kindergarten children. Our curriculum ensures that children receive a well-rounded education that encompasses all areas of development: cognitive, social, emotional, and physical.

Key Features of Our Kindergarten Program:

We believe that play is the foundation of learning for young children. Our program incorporates play-based activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving. Through hands-on experiences, children develop critical thinking skills, enhance their imagination, and build a love for learning.

Play-Based

Learning

Language and Literacy Development

Our kindergarten program focusses on fostering strong language and literacy skills. Children engage in activities that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing. They are exposed to a variety of age-appropriate books, participate in storytelling sessions, and engage in language-rich conversations to enhance their communication abilities.

Numeracy

Skills

We emphasize the development of numeracy skills to lay a solid foundation for future mathematical understanding. Through hands-on activities, games, and puzzles, children explore concepts such as number recognition, counting, patterns, shapes, and measurements. They develop problem-solving abilities and logical thinking skills.

Social and Emotional Development

We understand the importance of social and emotional well-being in early childhood. Our program encourages children to develop positive relationships, empathy, and self-regulation skills. Through group activities, cooperative play, and discussions, children learn to express their emotions, resolve conflicts, and develop a sense of belonging within a diverse community.

Physical

Development

Physical activity and movement play a crucial role in the growth of young children. Our program provides ample opportunities for gross and fine motor skill development. Children engage in outdoor play, participate in organized games, practice coordination exercises, and engage in creative movement activities to enhance their physical abilities.

Integrated

Curriculum

Our program integrates various subjects and themes to create meaningful and connected learning experiences. Children explore topics such as science, nature, art, music, and culture through hands-on projects and age-appropriate activities. This approach fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a broader understanding of the world around them.

Parent

Involvement

We value the partnership between parents and educators. Our kindergarten program encourages part involvement though regular communication and opportunities for parents to contribute to their child’s learning journey. We believe that a collaborative approach maximizes the potential for a child’s growth and development.

Check out our Kindergarten Room

Each child will receive their own portfolio where parents are able to view bi-weekly observations and documentation highlighting learning that occurred during a play experience or progress on goals set for your child to achieve. Pictures and art work are also placed in your child’s portfolio. A developmental checklist by Looksee is completed according to the child’s age to see if your child is on track with their development and help us focus on creating ways to help your child reach the developmental milestone.

At Kimbercroft we can give your child a strong start to their educational journey. Our dedicated educators and engaging curriculum will ensure that your child’s kindergarten experience is filled with joy, discovery, and a love for learning. Together, we will nurture their unique abilities and set the stage for a successful transition to primary school.
